Scanning Images / Plans
Our drawing and plan scanners are among the fastest and most sophisticated machines available in the scanning industry. They have both top and bottom illumination, which delivers excellent image quality from the original document as well as a good turnaround time for any large format document scanning project.
All scanned images are cleaned up after the initial process. This involves running raw scanned images and plans through the de-speckling, cropping, de-skewing and image optimising processes to obtain the best results from the scanned plan. Each scanned image is then inspected prior to its final release.
Indexing
After the drawing scanning process is completed, for a fast and efficient drawing search, we can index the images exactly as you need or by the following possible categories which are often used;

Storage Media
Over 5,000 A0 size drawings can be scanned and archived on a standard CD. Over 30,000 A0 drawings can be archived on one standard DVD. That CD or DVD can be accessed from any laptop or computer while in or away from the office. The electronic documents can also be copied to your network or hosted securely online for instant, shared access.
Free Retrieval, View, Print and E-mail Software
Our drawing and plan scanning bureau also supply our FREE drawing and plan search software as part of our scanning bureau services to our clients. This is provided on CD, so all you need to access your images instantly is a PC!
Retrieval software is a useful tool as well as being very user friendly. You can instantly search for a drawing or plan by any of the different indexed categories which are listed above. No prior training or installation is required, it all runs straight from the CD. Furthermore, if needed, we can provide a network version of the software so that images can be shared and searched for across the network or even accessible online from the Internet.
To use the software, just insert the CD in your PC and a small search window will appear on your screen. Type in the file name of the document and the searched drawing or plan is quickly displayed on your screen. If you wish, you can view, print or even e-mail your drawing or plan. No need to go searching through large rolls of archived documents for one plan drawing.
CAD Conversion
In addition to our plan and drawing scanning service, once scanned, we can convert your drawings or plans into fully formatted CAD editable files. We can offer these for AutoCAD conversion (DWG), Micro station (DGN), DXF or other required formats enabling you to make quick changes to the original documents. We call this paper to CAD conversion. We also provide manual CAD drafting services at an affordable cost.
